

Terms & Conditions
When renting from Occasion Rentals you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Occasion Rentals have the right to alter prices and discounts at any time we see needed and to alter the terms and conditions if we see fit.These terms and conditions come into play as soon as the payment from the customer is received by Occasion Rentals. The rental period is the period of time allocated by Occasion Rentals for the hire of the garment.
If there is any issues or fail to comply with the terms and conditions for Occasion rentals it will be dealt with where necessary.
Rental Agreement ♡
When hiring a garment from Occasion Rentals it is strictly important you have already agreed to the allocated period of time that has been set by you (the customer) and us (Occasion Rentals). It is mandatory that while you are responsible for hiring this garment, that only you wear it. You hold responsibility for this garment/s during your rental period. Any misuse causing damage/loss of the garment will come back on you being held accountable whether it was you're doing or not.
Occasion Rentals is the legal owner for all the garments in our collection, therefore they need to be returned to us the next working day, unless agreed otherwise.
Anyone wanting to hire a garment under 18 needs to have a parent/legal guardian read and agree to our terms and conditions. In summary we then hold the parent/guardian accountable when hiring a garment.
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and cannot be hired outside of New Zealand.
Unfortunately we do not hold any garments prior to payment being received. Unless organised between the customer and Occasion rentals.
Damage to any Garments ♡
You will be responsible for any damage to the garment, these including but not limited to, stains, holes, rips and cigarette burns. If the repairs affect any future bookings of the garment you will also be responsible to fulfil these payments, as this impacts both the next customer and our business. If any garment is returned damaged beyond repair you will be liable for full replacement fees of that garment. The replacement fee is to be decided by Occasion Rentals as the RRP of each garment or the price to replace the dress. Under no circumstances will this allow you to keep the garment.
Light staining can be removed by Occasion Rentals and not subject to any further fees. Although major staining that cannot be removed by Occasion Rentals will lead to extra dry cleaning fees and you will be sent a receipt and an invoice for this to be paid. Failure to comply with the payment will lead to professional matters.
We as Occasion Rentals have the right to decide the dry cleaner/repair service. The charge will be determined by the selected outlet and Occasion Rentals. We agree to be entirely fair when selecting dry cleaner/repair service and will be very clear with arrangements and communication.
Note, any silk or delicate garments may be subject to heavier dry cleaning fees.
If you believe when receiving your garment to have noticeable marks/stains/damage, please let us know within 2 hours on receiving your garment so we may amend this accordingly. If any damage is made while in your renting period or after 2 hours of receiving your garment, the renter will be liable for any extra fees.
All damages or staining made before rental period, the renter will not be liable for this and will not be deemed your fault. This will be taken note of when the garment is returned. Should any damage or staining occur prior to your booking, Occasion rentals will make the renter aware of this.
Any repairs/alterations need approval from Occasion Rentals prior to the garment being repaired/altered. This must be completed by a professional seamstress and receipts need to be emailed to Occasion rentals. Fail to do this, we reserve the right to collect payment for damage and/or replacement of the garment.
Unpaid Fees and Theft ♡
If you, the renter fail to pay the charges outlined by Occasion rentals, you authorise the Occasion Rentals to seek compensation for 150% of the RRP of the garment. Should any bookings need to be cancelled in the event that theft or late returns have occurred, you will be liable to fulfil these payments.
Occasion Rentals reserves the right to take all necessary steps to receive the qualified payments, such as legal action and debt collection.
Renters who breach their contract, waive their rights to their information being kept quiet. Should we need to seek compensation or a stolen garment of ours details provided in your booking may be used.
Returns ♡
If you believe your garment you have received is an inadequate condition, please let us know within 2 hours of receiving your garment so we can try amend this. Please note a refund will not be provided due to change of mind or if the garment does not fit you correctly. Refunds will not be provided if you fail to provide us with the correct shipping address or details. Once your order has been placed the order can not be cancelled. Shipping ♡
Postal Rentals
Postal rentals must be made by Wednesday 12pm each week for weekend arrivals. Bookings created after Wednesday 12pm for that weekend must select Saturday delivery. Late bookings placed after Wednesday 12pm will not receive a refund or shipping refund if the garment does not arrive in time. Please ensure you carefully read shipping information at checkout and if in doubt, get in contact with us.
Postal rentals must be returned to the post office by 5pm on the next working day. If you fail to return your garment by the following working day you will incur a $20 late fee per each day it is not returned. If sending back your garment later than the next working day at 5pm affects any future bookings of that garment you will also be liable to fulfil these payments, as it affects the next customer and the business.
If the rental is being sent by post to be returned to Occasion Rentals, shipping must be carefully read and followed (as per the return card that came with you garment). Failure to do so may result in additional charges.
Please note that once Occasion rentals has posted you garment and the garment has entered the NZ Post network. Occasion Rentals no longer has control over the garment which means we are not responsible foray shipping delays that may occur.
We use overnight tracked postage New Zealand wide and ship as early as we can, aiming for you to receive your garment within 1-3 business day prior to your selected date. You will received a tracking number via email when your item has been packaged by us. Please monitor your tracking number carefully via the NZ Post website, and should any postage delays occur, contact NZ post urgently. When contacting NZ post, we advise that sometimes depot pickups can be arranged if the item has reached your local depot however, this is your responsibility. Please understand we are not liable for any communications between the renter and NZ Post however, we can do our best to assist where it is possible, should you need any further information from our end.
We Occasion Rentals are not responsible for any delays in shipping, attempted deliveries, misdirects or portable faults caused by NZ post. It is your responsibility to be available for delivery of the garment or collection of your item/s from post office. Occasion Rentals take no responsibility for lost/stolen items. Please note that when your are renting with Occasion Rentals it always comes with associated risks, particularly when your are choosing for us to ship the item via NZ Post as a seperate contractor that your item may not arrive by your selected date however we will compensate this by issuing you a store credit to the product amount, minus the shipping costs.
If you happen to lose the return shipping bag, please contact us immediately to arrange an alternative option. You are liable to pay any extra postage costs as a result of this.
Pick Up and Drop Off ♡
You are able to choose the alternative method of pick up and drop off in Rangiora. This feature will be available at checkout and this is free of charge. You are required to drop the garment back on the following calendar day after your selected date, unless arranged separately between you and Occasion Rentals. Failure to do this will result in a $20.00 fee per day that you fail to drop off. Occasion Rentals are not responsible for any lost or stolen goods. You will be liable for the full RRP if the garment is lost, stolen or not returned.
We are not responsible for incorrect selecting as pickup instead of shipping. We do not offer or provide shipping or product refunds if this was to occur.
Extended Rental Selection ♡
If you decide you want to extend your rental time period to 6 calendar days then please message us prior to you booking the garment so we can make sure it is available for the extra period of time. This may incur a slightly higher price for the garment. While having the garment for the extended period of time you are liable to look after the garment and should it be misplaced, lost or damaged, you will be solely responsible for the charges outlined by Occasion Rentals.
Sizing ♡
Occasion rentals endeavours to help you where possible with the fit of your garments. The size and recommended size is stated under the description as well as measurements for the garment to insure you have the correct size. Please note we are not accountable for wrong sizing and if the item does not fit on arrival. Please do your due diligence and find measurements either online or alternatively contact us for extra assistance if you require it.
Wear ♡
Please be extra cautious when wearing our garments and treat them as your own. If possible avoid any situations where smoking is present and do not attempt to try clean the garment if there is spillage on it. Please do not wear the garment with freshly applied fake tan, as this can leave permanent stains which you will be liable for.
Please remember as we are a dress hire company and a lot of our dresses are worn on a weekly basis, therefore, items should not be expected to be in brand new condition. We do however acknowledge that our dresses must be in wearable condition with minimal stains and damage.
Please do not attempt to was or dry clean any of our garments yourself as some of our items are delicate and require special dry cleaning/hand washing. Once we receive the garment back, we will look over the dress and determine the cost of cleaning, if any. Light staining that us able to be removed by Occasion Rentals will not be subject to any further charges. For items that are returned with significant staining or damage which Occasion Rentals cannot fix/clean, the renter will be subject to extra dry cleaning/repair fees. Upon dry cleaning or repairing the renter will be sent the receipt and an invoice to pay within 24 hours. Failure to comply with payments may result in legal action.
Return Cards ♡
In an effort to minimise our paper usage, we have laminated our return cards which are sent out with every order. These return cards contain important information when returning your garment back to Occasion Rentals. Please ensure to return the return card with your garment, misplacing of these cards will result in a $20.00 fee.
By renting with us, you have agreed with the above terms and conditions.
